Fairy Garden
This was done purely to cover a storage unit that we made to store crap. I hate the look of felt so i came up with a design, (yes, I daydream a lot), then went to the wife, "I have had an idea",after some swearing she was on board.
Pictures and instruction to follow.
First design of roughly how i wanted the fairy garden to look

I decided i wanted to make a little fairy house so i sketched a few designs i wanted and had a butchers on google images. some of the designs were there and some weren't. I then thought it would be nice to have a fairy garden and i knew just where to put it.
The top of the storage area was flat, I added 4 bits of pallet board to make a deep lip (as per the picture) then I added pond liner to it so no water would leak through, this the cheapest stuff I could get, I then added dirt and compost to it and flattened it all out. We brought some herbs and small plants that we can trim down so they look sort of like tree's
I was going to put a river in it but my wife wasn't keen on this (that's another reason i was using pond liner) so instead we added blue stones to mimic a little river.
We brought little mushroom things for £1 each, not sure if it is staying yet but we will see.
We tried different things and moved stuff about until we were happy with it.
Due to my innate laziness this was designed to look better when things start to grow. Most fairy gardens are made to look good straight away but the plants require constant trimming and i'm too lazy for that crap, so we have used some stuff that will require minimum care but most of it should be able to just grow. For example, the low plants will be able to just grow like mad and cover most of it. This will look even better next year (hopefully) if we planned it right.
Final (ish) pictures. We may need to make a couple of adjustments to it as it grows out but this is how it looks now.
Only LED lighting to be added now.
The large fairies and gnome may be removed once the plants have grown some more. This will be the final placement hopefully the right side should look like a forest and the front bit will look like a meadow when it all grows out.
That's the plan anyway.
