Palace on a stump

Same again. 3 bottles were glued together and she used cardboard for the roof and glued this on and stuck bits of coat hanger wire through he roofs to make little curved tops.

She then used tinfoil again to accentuate any bits (refer to picture) and then used air dried clay over it all.

This once again failed due to the air dry clay so she started again.

This time she used a tree stump to mount them on and used the homemade clay.

On the tops on the stump are plastic drinks bottles (2L) and the 3 smaller ones are sweet jars which are attached with little L brackets. she cut out 3 circles out of cardboard then wrapped them in tinfoil and glued them to the bottom of each jar to make the 3 little houses look like ther on toadstools growing from the side for the stump

They were then covered with the clay.

There isn't any correct method for sculpting the clay, either copy the pictures opposite or just do what you think looks right.

Now it all just needs painting.

This time she will use natural and muted colours to try and blend a little with the tree stump as she wants this one to look more a part of nature.

This was the most time consuming part. We grabbed some pine cones from the side of the road and she pulled these apart with a pair of pliers.

She then stuck these on with pva glue (would have used the hot glue gun but we broke it), these were done in a tile pattern starting at the bottom of the roof.

Sticking the pine cone bits on was quite time consuming.

Then she painted it. Pick a colour, whatever colour and just paint.

This was then all varnished to make it waterproof.

Pay special attention to the roofs

Here she added some moss to the wood as well to make it a bit more, well i don't know, but she added moss, that much i do know.

As you can see the top one looked quite plane so we wanted to add something to make it look better.

She put some ivy and flower things on the highest one to give it a bit of pazaz, and put a couple of little butterfly things on too.

Now it looks awesome.

She outdid herself with this one if you ask me, it looks way better than it does in the pictures

All that is left to do now is add some led lighting, i will take pictures when we have done this.
